RIMS™ is provided in a 'software-as-a-service' model. ExactBid develops, tests, custom configures, hosts, and maintains the software. Secure access is provided to authorized users over the Internet, through a standard web browser. Customers directly maintain many of the customized lookup tables and user tables – all data remains the property of the customer. Certain data such as fee trends and delivery trends may be collected in an aggregate fashion without reference to individual Customers or specific transactions.

With RIMS™, there is no software for the Customer to buy or maintain, and no secure server and backup systems to purchase and operate. RIMS™ pricing is based on a nominal setup and support fee, plus transaction fees that are tied to Awards made and accepted through the system. Customers can pass the RIMS™ transaction fees through to the borrower or requester as a handling charge on the external vendor service fee, along with the vendor fee itself.
